Subject: Just checking in

Hi coach, David Butler here, Morgan's dad.

Just wanted to check in with you and see how things were going.  Morgan's East Cobb Bullets 14u team finished 4th of 32 teams at Eastern Nationals.  Had we not lost our first bracket game, I think we would have won the whole thing and earned a berth for Nationals next year.  Overall we scored 90 runs and allowed 24, I'm still waiting to see the rbi count but I'm sure Morgan's bam bam bam batting was responsible for alot of those.  They moved her to the 4 spot and she wore out the right field wall.  I think she hit around .600 but after catching 9 games she and a few other big bats in the line up ran out of gas against a Miami Valley pitcher throwing about 62mph.  She was the only pitcher who struck Morgan out with a few rockets on the inside corner.

I can't thank you enough for turning Morgan around this year.   Anyway I will be contacting you for a tune up and some workouts this off season so she can start the spring off with a bang (or should I say a bam?).

The one thing I want to work on is recognizing and reacting to the inside pitch.  I've got your new cell number and e-mail and I'll be in touch.

I also wanted to see where you were in putting your team together.

Thanks again for all your help this year.

Hey Rick!
Just wanted to update you on Haley's last couple games. Last Thursday we played Wilkinson County for 2 innings before the rains came. Haley was 1-2, with 2 RBI and a Run Scored. She was batting sixth, so they moved her up one spot in the line up.  She had a single up the middle and then reached on an error by the 2nd baseman. I noticed when she was hitting that she didnt have her hands back all the way, so we got the tee out Friday afternoon and worked on that for an hour and then did some soft toss.  She was swinging great and making great contact.
We played Putnam County Saturday morning. Haley batted sixth again and had 2 walks, 2 stolen bases and 2 runs scored. Their pitcher was struggling. Haley only had 2 plate appearances before they pulled the starters. Her stance looked great even though she walked twice. Her hands were back  Talk to you soon!

Hey Coach,

First photo is a two strike shot that bounced over in right center (2rbi).  Next is a bases loaded double that was by the left fielder and to the fence before she even broke on it. (3rbi)  Morgan was 7 for 11 with 2 walks and 2 k's.   Thank you so much for helping Morgan this year.  We both really appreciate it.  We were co-champions because of some storms on Sunday.  USFA state.

Morgan does plan on coming to some of your workouts, but this week will probably not work.

Talk to you soon
